On April 7, 2025, Prof. Yermekbayev Samgat, Vice President of Kazakh National Technical University (Satbayev University), led a delegation to Xiamen University. Prof. Yancheng You, Vice President of Xiamen University, met with the guests, discussing deepened collaboration between the two institutions.

The Kazakh delegation joined specialized meetings with six schools, including the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SACE). Prof. Dongdong Wang, Deputy Dean of SACE, shared the school’s achievements in civil engineering, highlighting strengths in structural health monitoring, numerical simulation, and disaster resilience research. He emphasized SACE’s focus on training global engineering talent and promoting sustainable development through industry-university collaboration.

Prof. Yermekbayev Samgat praised Xiamen University’s engineering research and introduced KazNTU’s strengths in civil engineering, energy, and construction technology. Both sides agreed to advance partnerships in joint talent programs, faculty/student exchanges, and research collaboration, particularly in Belt and Road infrastructure and sustainable development.

The visit, combining university-level strategy with school-specific discussions, built a foundation for precise academic collaboration. SACE aims to expand its international network and boost global influence through such partnerships, leveraging shared expertise to address global civil engineering challenges.
